PROGRESS

The second phase of the project is nearing completion.

In approximately two weeks the road is expected to open with two lanes of traffic in each direction.

Work continues on the parapet walls, sidewalk, bridge deck grooving, asphalt paving and pavement striping.

Bridge structure will be painted along with restoration, punch list and project close-out items performed before the bridge is opened.

Completion date for this project is September 7, 2010.

PROGRESS

Work continues on the north half of the bridge.

Two-way traffic continues on the south half of the bridge.

Ongoing work will consist of construction-setting form work and re-steel

for the north-west abutment and wing wall sections.

The north-east abutment and wing wall is in place.

Work continues on the east bank of the canal, slop and erosion control.

This project has a tentative completion date of early July 2010, with

a tentative time extension of 3 months due to start-up delays and lost

days due to weather.

The south half of Rockside Road Bridge #218 has been completed.

On Tuesday, October 20, 2009 traffic will be routed from the north half of the bridge

to the south half of the bridge.

Demolition on north half to begin soon after.

PROGRESS

On Monday, August 3, 2009, 5 beams will be offloaded and set on Rockside Road Bridge No. 218. This work will last all day and will be interrupting the traffic flow. Police will be positioned at either end of the bridge during this time to help with traffic. MAJOR DELAYS ARE TO BE EXPECTED. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route for the day.

PROGRESS

On June 11, 2010 the second half (north side) of the bridge deck has been poured.

The bridge deck is in a two week cure period.

Work continues on reconstructive roadway work on the north side, this includes new

pavement, curb and catch-basin installation.

Mr. Joe Charif, Area Construction Engineer, has granted a time extension to

Blaze Construction Company for weather and construction related delays.

The current completion date for this construction project is September 7, 2010.
At this time two-way traffic is being maintained, one lane in each direction.
Delays are to be expected.
